All This Fuss About PSLs

The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is 20 years old, and it’s been shorthand for “white girl fuel” for around half of that. I’m not going to try to untangle how much of the PSL zeitgeist is is corporate marketing and how much is America’s disdain for anything that young women enjoy: you’d need a full-time cultural anthropologist to sort that out.

No, I have only two things to add to the conversation.

  1. Pumpkin Spice Lattes taste pretty darn good.

  2. I would choose an Apple Crisp Macchiato over a Pumpkin Spice Latte eight days a week.
