The Nice House on the Lake

It’s so hard figuring out how to recommend a story that’s better experienced with no prior knowledge, but I’ll give it a shot.

The Nice House on the Lake is a DC limited series written by James Tyrion IV and illustrated by Álvaro Martínez Bueno. It is a gorgeously-illustrated horror series that will neither begin nor end how you expect. Like any good horror, it explores the unknown. Like the absolute best horror, it explores how we face the unknown in people we know very well.

I would not be the least bit surprised if this got picked up by a streaming service for an award-winning show. It’s one of the best things I’ve read this year, and if you like horror in any form, you should check it out.
