Why do these exist? I know that shopping holidays are pretty scarce between Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, but what Don Draper-looking jamoke conned companies into thinking that this was a real winner of an idea?

And why is the go-to sale mattresses?

At least I can see the trajectory of St. Patrick’s Day from religious holiday to war on the human liver. But for the life of me, I can’t connect the dots from George Washington’s birthday to half-priced mattresses. I think that’s for the best.
