Reluctant Superhero, or American in 2023?

I wore the mask to protect myself and my loved ones, but I thought the time had come that I didn’t need it anymore.

I thought I could put the mask away, but I look out my window and I know… my city needs me to return to my old ways.

All my training, all my skills… but I got sloppy. Put myself at risk. What was I thinking?

You can’t wash your hands of the past… without warm, soapy water and singing “Happy Birthday to You” twice.

These times will be difficult. I will be tested. I can only pray… I test negative.
