Thoughtful Vocabulary: Librovendomania
Librovendomania: (leeb-roh-may-nee-uh) N. The debilitating feeling of excitement and overactivity one feels when entering bookshop, characterized by a flurry of excessive shopping, temporary amnesia of currently owned and unread books, and the single-minded knowledge that the contents of the store could be yours, all yours, if you sold the rest of your worldly possessions and asked the booksellers really, really nicely.
Shout out to Flyleaf Books, a terrific bookstore in Chapel Hill where I spent a couple very pleasant hours and an amount of money that I don’t feel comfortable disclosing this past weekend. I’ve been ordering from Flyleaf for a couple of years, but this was the first time I went into the store proper. It is lovely, and I highly recommend a trip.
