On the Twitter News

I have no strong feelings on Twitter (as my account almost certainly demonstrates), but even if I absolutely hated it, I would still not understand the money and effort Elon Musk is putting into destroying it.

He spent 44 billion dollars. The interest alone is 1 billion dollars a year. He laid off about half the staff. He bullied his own employees online. And that email last night…

My revenge fantasies tend to be more of a “seeing the error of your ways” vein than a “burn down everything you’ve ever built” kind of thing. I don’t know how Twitter wronged this guy, but it must have been terrible enough to be worth billions of dollars in schemes, but not quite so terrible as to require a five-point plan.

Anyhoo. I’m sure this will be the last time a billionaire absolutely wrecks part of our society on a whim. Definitely. 100% for sure.
